GRANOR® DC-888 Silicon Sealant

Applications

GRANOR® DC-888 Silicon Sealant is typically used as an expansion joint filler between concrete faces where significant movement is anticipated. Typical applications are in construction and movement joints in concrete slabs, bridge decks etc. It is non self leveling, ie; non slump, and thus can be used in vertical joints. When correctly installed, “DC-888” can accommodate 50% extension and 50% compression. In order to optimise performance when used in conjunction with the SSI® “DC-902-RCS” Silicone Sealant, it is strongly recommended that the concrete faces be grit blasted and that a primer be used. Curing process is by way of exposure to atmospheric moisture.

Features

• Non slump – can be applied to vertical joints.
• Extension – Typically 50% - Contraction - 50%.

Note

GRANOR® DC-888 Silicon Sealant should not be applied if following apply;

Do not apply to wet or dirty surfaces, Do not apply if temperature is below dew point, Do not install in totally confined conditions, and it is not recommended for continuous water immersion.

Cure time - is dependent on both ambient temperature and atmospheric moisture content but full cure typically requires several days.
